Weight loss does not happen overnight. Shows like "the biggest looser" glamourise loosing huge amounts of weight in a relatively short time but they don't tell you where the weight loss is coming from.

 

The goal should be to preserve muscle tissue through strength training and an increase in dietary protein. Sustainable weight loss should primarily come from fat tissue and this can only occur when weight loss is slow and steady.
